The Telangana government has ordered the relocation of the Begumpet Divisional office of Revenue (Commercial Taxes Department) to the T-Hub building near Raidurg. The T-Hub facility, originally established to support startups and innovation, will now accommodate a government office as part of a broader cost-cutting initiative. This move is part of the state government’s decision to shift 39 offices from rented private buildings to government-owned premises.
The relocation directive comes as the Telangana administration implements strict austerity measures to reduce expenditure on rental payments for office spaces. By moving government departments from private properties to state-owned buildings, the government aims to significantly cut down operational costs. The Commercial Taxes Department’s Begumpet division is among the offices identified for immediate relocation under this new policy.

The T-Hub building, located in the heart of Hyderabad’s tech corridor near Raidurg, was initially designed as a startup incubation center to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in the state. The decision to house a government revenue office in this facility has raised questions about the optimal utilization of spaces meant for promoting the startup ecosystem. However, officials maintain that the move is necessary to rationalize government spending on infrastructure.
