Hyderabad to Receive Urban Challenge Fund of Rs 10,000 Crore

Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy responded to criticism regarding Telangana’s share in the Union Budget by announcing that Hyderabad will receive an Urban Challenge Fund of Rs 10,000 crore.

The budget for the AMRUT scheme has been increased from Rs 6,000 crore to Rs 10,000 crore. This will support development programs across more than 125 urban local bodies in Telangana. Additionally, under the SVANidhi scheme, street vendors in Telangana will benefit from credit cards worth Rs 30,000 each, helping approximately 7.5 lakh beneficiaries. Identity cards and registration under the e-Shram portal will also be provided for gig workers, benefiting thousands in the state.

Hyderabad continues to grow as a world-class medical hub, and new initiatives aim to enhance healthcare services. Dialysis centers will be set up in hospitals across every district headquarters, and cancer daycare centers will also be established.

The Pradhan Mantri Garib Annakalyan Yojana will bring significant benefits to Telangana, with allocations exceeding Rs 2 lakh crore. The Suryagarh Muft Bijli Yojana’s funding has been increased from Rs 11,000 crore to Rs 20,000 crore, while the Jal Jeevan Mission has been extended to continue until 2028.

Telangana farmers will also benefit from the Kisan Samman Nidhi, targeting 1.7 crore farmers. A new Agricultural District Program under the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana will be launched in collaboration with state governments. This program includes incentives for the food processing sector and a special six-year mission focused on pulses cultivation, benefiting farmers cultivating pulses on 10 lakh acres in Telangana.
