Hyderabad citizens are getting relief from water logging thanks to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) painting and grilling manholes in the city.

There are around 6,34,919 manholes in GHMC and suburban municipalities, with 63,221 of them being deep manholes. Of these, 26,798 are in GHMC and 36,423 are in suburban areas. Deep manholes in the city have been painted red and safety grills have been installed in most deep manholes in GHMC to improve local safety.

HMWSSB is advising the public not to open manhole covers under any circumstances. If a manhole cover is open or broken, they can call 155313 for assistance.
