Shahnaz Tabassum, the wife of TS Waqf Board CEO and a Supreme Court advocate, will be contesting from the Hyderabad Parliament constituency on a Congress ticket. Her name was chosen recently, bypassing other contenders for the ticket. Some party sources believe her selection was influenced by the Chief Minister’s relationship with Asaduddin Owaisi.

Tabassum, a lawyer with 12 years of experience, is determined to challenge AIMIM in the constituency. In a letter to AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, she expressed her belief that Hyderabad is ready for a change and that Congress is the only option for this change. She plans to campaign vigorously against AIMIM and has made financial arrangements for the election.
