Hyderabad: After clearing illegal constructions around lakes, the Hyderabad Disaster Response Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRA) is now focusing on improving the condition of the lakes. The first lake they are working on is Errakunta Lake, located in the Nizampet municipality area.

Officials say they expect the cleanup to be finished in the next two to three days. Under the leadership of HYDRA Commissioner AV Ranganath, plans are being made to restore the lake and improve its surroundings. Local residents are happy with these efforts to revive the water body.

On October 20, HYDRA reassured people that real estate projects with proper legal permissions will not be affected by any demolitions near lakes. Commissioner Ranganath made it clear that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has confirmed that no buildings with valid approvals will be torn down.
