Imphal: Manipur’s NHs face indefinite blockade once again
Text Size: 100%

A tribal group in Manipur has decided to start a blockade on two national highways in Kangpokpi district. They are doing this because they want to make sure that the Kuki-Zo communities in the hill areas of the state have enough essential supplies. The Committee on Tribal Unity (COTU) Sadar Hills Kangpokpi is responsible for this blockade. They have blocked NH 2, which connects Imphal to Nagaland’s Dimapur, and NH 37, which connects Imphal to Assam’s Silchar. The volunteers of the tribal group have been seen on the streets of Kangpokpi district, making sure that vehicles cannot pass through.
