Impressive! Females hold authority in Jalpally municipality

In Rangareddy, the Jalpally municipality has become an all-woman urban local body. The premier posts in Revenue, municipal, Town Planning, and engineering sections are led by women officials. MRO K Madhavi Reddy has been given the task of supervising and protecting government lands, despite the lack of sufficient staff. The municipality, which has 28 wards, is facing issues with roads, sewage, sanitary facilities, and healthcare. Commissioner Vasantha is working to improve public-official relationships, but there is still a long way to go for the municipality to become a healthy habitat. Other women officials in key positions include Habeebunnisa in Town Planning and Assistant Executive Engineer Ishrath Ayesha in engineering. Jalpally is an impoverished municipality known for its lack of basic amenities. There have been shocking incidents in the past two years, including the arrest of the former commissioner in a disproportionate assets case and the arrest of the municipal chairman in a murder case.
