    The India Justice Report 2022, a comprehensive study on the state of justice delivery in India, has declared Telangana as the leading state in police ranking. The report, which was released by the Tata Trusts and the Centre for Social Justice, evaluated each state on various parameters such as police strength, infrastructure, training, and performance.

    Telangana emerged as the best-performing state in terms of police strength, with a ratio of 1.28 police personnel per 1,000 population. The state also scored high in terms of police infrastructure, with 95% of police stations having basic amenities such as toilets, drinking water, and electricity. Additionally, the report highlighted that Telangana has made significant investments in technology and modernization of its police force, with the highest percentage of police stations equipped with CCTVs and digital records management systems.

The state recorded a crime rate of 17.8 per 100,000 population, which is lower than the national average of 22.5.
