Indian Railways has introduced new scheduled cargo services to boost freight transport and logistics efficiency. These services focus on specific commodities and follow a set timetable.

The Annapurna Service transports foodgrains from Ludhiana to Varanasi. The Gati-Vahan Service moves automobiles from Farrukhnagar to Lucknow. Containers are sent from Garhi to Mundra Port via the Niryat Cargo Service. The Anantnag Cement Cargo Service carries cement from Roopangarh to Anantnag.

These new services have cut down transit times, ensuring quicker and more reliable deliveries. Companies like FCI, Suzuki, and cement producers have praised the initiative. It enhances predictability, streamlines operations, and improves coordination, benefiting industry, trade, and regional growth.
