Indian airlines have continued to suspend flights between India and Saudi Arabia as of October 23, 2026. The airlines cite ongoing security concerns after Houthi attacks on airports, especially in Riyadh, and a recent incident in Dammam. Cancellations remain in effect, and some have been extended.

IndiGo updated its advisory on October 23. Flights to and from Riyadh are cancelled until October 31, 2026 (inclusive). Flights to and from Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah are cancelled until October 27, 2026 (inclusive).

The airline said the decision follows the evolving security situation, including a recent attack at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. IndiGo is notifying affected passengers through the contact details given at the time of booking. Passengers can check their flight status on the airline website and use options such as Plan B for rebooking, or opt for a full refund.

Akasa Air has extended the suspension of all flights to and from Riyadh and Jeddah until October 27, 2026 (inclusive). The extension was announced earlier this week. Affected passengers can choose a full refund, credited to the original payment method within 7 days, or free rescheduling. Those who booked through travel agents should contact their agents.

Air India and Air India Express have suspended flights to and from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam until October 24, 2026. The suspension was announced on October 17, and no newer extension has been widely reported as of today.

Eligible passengers are those with bookings issued by October 15 for travel between October 9 and October 25. They can get a one-time complimentary date change (up to November 10), rebook via alternative GCC points, or receive a full refund. Air India offers points such as Dubai and Doha. Air India Express offers broader options, including Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Kuwait and Muscat, subject to availability.

The measures follow a series of Houthi drone and missile attacks on Saudi civilian infrastructure and airports in early-to-mid October. The attacks caused casualties, damage and temporary disruptions, particularly at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Some Saudi carriers, such as Saudia from certain cities and Flynas on select routes, have continued limited operations. Passengers are advised to verify the latest status on their airline’s website or app before heading to the airport. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia has issued advisories urging nationals to follow local instructions and stay updated.
