Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer Abhilasha Bisht has officially been moved from the Telangana cadre to the Andhra Pradesh cadre. This change happened after an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The MHA issued the transfer order on 12 February 2025. Abhilasha Bisht challenged the decision in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), but the tribunal did not provide any relief. As a result, she accepted the order and followed through with the transfer.
According to a government notice, she reported for duty in Andhra Pradesh on 26 February 2025. The same notice also mentioned that she has been granted four months of child care leave starting from the day she joined.
This transfer is seen as an important step in the ongoing reshuffling of officers between the Telugu-speaking states. It comes as part of continued efforts to reorganize services after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Abhilasha Bisht, known for her strong track record, is expected to take on an important role in the Andhra Pradesh police department once her leave ends.
