Will KTR Face Arrest by ACB or ED?

The question of whether KT Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), will be arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) or the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has become a hot topic on news channels and social media. This speculation follows the Telangana High Court’s decision to dismiss a criminal petition filed by KTR, who is also a former Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD).

In response to the High Court’s ruling, the ED quickly issued a summons, asking KTR to appear for questioning on January 16. Meanwhile, KTR approached the Supreme Court to challenge the High Court’s decision. The Telangana state government also filed a caveat in the Supreme Court to ensure they are heard before any orders are passed.

On Tuesday evening, amidst these legal developments, KTR held a press conference where he strongly denied any wrongdoing. He claimed that the cases being brought against him were politically motivated and accused the Congress party and a leader he referred to as “Chitti Naidu” of being the real culprits. KTR alleged that Chitti Naidu was previously involved in corruption, citing the note-for-vote case as an example. He dismissed the allegations against him as part of a political vendetta.

KTR also shared details of his legal stance. He stated that he had visited the ACB office on Monday, prepared to cooperate with their investigation. However, he alleged that the ACB backed out of questioning him. He insisted that his lawyers be present during any questioning, citing concerns about false leaks to the media, similar to what had allegedly happened in the case of Patnam Mahendra Reddy.

Additionally, KTR defended the Formula E Race project, calling it a “great idea” and asserting that there was no corruption involved at any stage. He challenged Congress leader Revanth Reddy to a live discussion on the matter before involving investigative agencies like the ACB or ED. KTR accused the Congress of being a party focused on “Destruction, Distraction, and Deception.”

In closing, KTR urged his party members to stand by farmers and focus on their rights. He called for exposing the government’s shortcomings on issues like Rythu Bharosa and the “six guarantees” promised to the public. He also criticized the media, advising them to prioritize more meaningful news stories.
