Telangana IT Minister D Sridhar Babu has acknowledged a growing concern in the state assembly, stating that mosquitoes appear to have developed resistance to conventional fogging methods. Despite regular fogging operations being carried out across Hyderabad, the mosquito menace continues to plague residents during the current season. The minister made these observations while responding to concerns raised by AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, who highlighted the severe mosquito problem affecting citizens in the city and demanded immediate action through intensified fogging measures.
The issue was brought to the forefront when Akbaruddin Owaisi raised the matter in the assembly, pointing out the excessive mosquito menace troubling Hyderabad residents. He emphasized the urgent need for effective fogging operations to control the growing problem. In response, Minister Sridhar Babu explained that while fogging activities are being conducted regularly, the persistence of mosquitoes suggests that these insects may have developed immunity to the chemicals being used. This resistance could explain why traditional control methods are proving less effective than before.
Minister Sridhar Babu assured the assembly that government officials would examine the issue thoroughly and develop alternative solutions to tackle the mosquito menace effectively. He indicated that the possibility of mosquitoes developing resistance to fogging chemicals would be investigated as a primary factor. The minister committed to working out new strategies and methods to bring the situation under control and provide relief to the citizens of Hyderabad who have been suffering from the increased mosquito population.
