Hyderabad, June 30 (Namaste Telangana): An IT refund scam is creating chaos in the Telugu states. IT officials have identified a scam worth approximately 500 crore rupees. IT authorities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are conducting investigations. Initially, authorities suspected tax consultants and charted accountants, but now they are focusing on the role of chartered accounts in the scam.

It has been revealed that tax consultants collaborated with chartered accountants to carry out fraudulent refund claims. Government officials, private individuals, and software engineers are believed to have made significant profits. Approximately 16 locations in both states have been involved in these fraudulent activities, including eight cases in Hyderabad, as well as in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tirupati, and Anantapur. Additionally, authorities are interrogating individuals associated with a fraudulent organization operating in Kumbhakonam.

Tax consultants, chartered accountants, some railway and police personnel, as well as software engineers have already received notices from the authorities regarding their involvement in this operation. After the completion of investigations, officials are preparing to arrest those responsible for creating false documents.
