Hyderabad: Tension flared in Telangana politics as T Jagga Reddy, working president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), lashed out at BJP MP Eatala Rajender over his remarks against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, Jagga Reddy issued a strong warning. “If Eatala dares to insult our CM or the Congress Party again, I’ll take him to task right on the street,” he declared.
Jagga Reddy criticized Eatala for diving into caste-based politics and using offensive language. “He’s crossed all limits with his words,” Reddy said. “So don’t be surprised when I respond in kind.”
He questioned Eatala’s seriousness as a public representative. “Have you, even once, met the Chief Minister to address the problems of your Malkajgiri constituency?” he asked. “You didn’t get a top post in the BJP, and now you’re behaving like someone who’s lost control. Speak with dignity—we’ll respond with dignity. But if you speak filth, you’ll get the same in return.”
Jagga Reddy also pointed out that Revanth Reddy, despite being the target of insults, chose not to retaliate. “Our CM showed you mercy,” he said. “He assumed you were just venting because you didn’t get what you wanted. But don’t count on the rest of us to be that patient.”
Calling Eatala’s behavior reckless, Jagga Reddy said, “You act like a wild man with a gun in the jungle. I’ve carried a gun among the people. Don’t test us. If you want attention, go clash with leaders from other parties.”
He accused Eatala of using foul language to gain political mileage and possibly push for a Union Minister post. “You think cursing the CM will get you promoted? You’re making a fool of yourself,” Reddy said.
He further warned that if Eatala continued to target Congress leaders, the response wouldn’t be polite. “You’re talking as if you’ve lost your mind. You never played the caste card before—why now? You’ve stooped to dirty politics just to stay relevant.”
Ending his statement with a final caution, Jagga Reddy said, “If you insult our party again, I won’t hold back. Remember, you’re not the only one who has held a gun. I’ve been in the thick of real politics. Stay in your limits or face the consequences.”
