Gadwal: A special rally called the “Jai Bhim Rally” was held in Gadwal to celebrate the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The Congress Party organized the event, led by former ZP Chairperson and Gadwal Constituency In-Charge Sarithamma. She was joined by former Municipal Chairman B.S. Keshav, former Vice Chairman Ganjipet Shankar, and Youth Congress District President R. Thirumalesh.
The rally started from Sarithamma’s camp office and ended at Ambedkar Chowrasta. There, leaders and supporters paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar’s statue. Participants carried portraits of Dr. Ambedkar and marched together while chanting slogans that promoted equality, justice, and social reform.
During the event, Sarithamma spoke about Dr. Ambedkar’s life and legacy. She praised him as a great leader who played many roles—jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer. She also recognized him as the main architect of the Indian Constitution.
Sarithamma highlighted Ambedkar’s fight against untouchability and his work to support Dalits, women, and workers. She said the Constitution he created was meant to guarantee justice and equality for everyone, no matter their religion, caste, or background.
She added that Ambedkar Jayanti should not be limited to ceremonies. Instead, people should follow his principles and work toward achieving his dream of an equal and just society.
Sarithamma also rejected the idea that Dr. Ambedkar only represented one group. She said he stood for all marginalized people, including BCs, SCs, STs, and minorities. She encouraged young people to learn from his life and follow his path.
Many Congress Party leaders from different areas, along with former public representatives, youth leaders, students, and members of party-affiliated groups, took part in the rally. Their active participation made the event a meaningful and inclusive tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.
