Jaishankar Stresses on Zero Tolerance for Terrorism at SCO Meet in Goa

On Friday, India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar, spoke to the world about the importance of stopping terrorism, especially cross-border terrorism. He said that the threat of terrorism is still present around the world and that ignoring the issue would harm national security. According to The Times of India, Dr. Jaishankar stated, “We firmly believe that there can be no justification for terrorism and it must be stopped in all its forms & manifestations including cross-border terrorism.”

Dr. Jaishankar also warned the group at the SCO meeting that ignoring terrorism would be harmful to security interests. He emphasized the need to seize and block all channels of funding for terrorist activities. Additionally, he discussed how COVID-19 and geopolitical upheavals have had a significant impact on global supply chains.

During the two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Goa, Dr. Jaishankar greeted Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The two ministers shook hands and exchanged greetings at a dinner hosted by India’s foreign minister on Thursday night to commemorate the start of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Goa.
