Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma has appointed Justice A. Rajasheker Reddy as the new Lokayukta of Telangana. Justice Reddy is a former judge of the High Court.
He will serve in this role for five years from the day he takes charge. During his term, he will work full-time and have the same status as a Chief Justice of a High Court.
The Governor also appointed Justice B. S. Jag Jeevan Kumar as the Upa-Lokayukta. He is a former District and Sessions Judge and will also serve for five years from the day he starts the job.
In a separate decision, Justice Shameem Akthar has been made the Chairman of the State Human Rights Commission. Along with him, Shivani Praveena and Dr. B. Kishore have been appointed as commission members.
