Hyderabad: Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, said his two-day visit to Chhattisgarh was a success. During the trip, he visited Gevra, the world’s second-largest coal mine, and checked on various community development programs run by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.
One of the programs, called ‘Dhadkan,’ provides free heart surgeries for children with heart problems. The Minister visited some of these children who were treated at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Naya Raipur.
Another program, ‘Sushruta,’ helps poor students prepare for the NEET medical entrance exam. The Minister met young doctors who had completed their education thanks to this training. He encouraged them to help improve healthcare in remote areas.
A review meeting was also held at the State Secretariat. It included Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the State’s Chief Secretary, senior government officials, the Chairman of Coal India, the head of SECL, and officials from the Union Coal Ministry.
During the meeting, the Minister highlighted the potential of Chhattisgarh and encouraged everyone to work together to make the most of the state’s resources.
