The Tata Group is set to establish India’s largest AI data centre in Hyderabad, marking a significant milestone in the country’s artificial intelligence infrastructure development. TCS HyperVault will construct a Gigawatt-scale AI data centre in Telangana, with a capacity of up to 1,000 Mega Watt (1 Giga Watt). This massive facility will cater to the world’s leading AI companies, major hyperscalers, and global enterprises seeking advanced computing infrastructure.

The ambitious project involves a substantial financial commitment, with HyperVault and its partners planning to invest up to Rs 70,000 crore to build and manage the infrastructure. This investment represents the largest deal between a state government and a private sector participant in India’s technology sector. The scale of the investment underscores the growing importance of AI infrastructure in the country’s digital economy.

The data centre campus is expected to generate significant employment opportunities in the region. The project will create approximately 7,000 jobs, encompassing both white-collar and blue-collar positions through direct and indirect employment.
