Hyderabad‘s Nehru Zoological Park is preparing to receive two kangaroos from Anant Ambani‘s Vantara as part of an animal swap deal. In exchange, Vantara will receive an elephant.

This follows a previous exchange in October where Hyderabad received two male and one female zebra, while sending 20 mouse deer to Vantara. Hyderabad Zoo’s PRO Haneefulla revealed that the kangaroos, one male and one female, should arrive by next week. The zoo has had an enclosure ready for them since 2020.

Additionally, the zoo will welcome a pair of wallabies and a female giraffe. The giraffe, coming from Mysore Zoo, will join Sunny, the resident male giraffe, for companionship.

The zoo has proposed more animal exchanges with other parks in India. Some exchanges are completed, while others await approval from the Central Zoo Authority.

Situated over 380 acres, Nehru Zoological Park hosts nearly 100 species, including the Indian rhino, Asiatic lion, Bengal tiger, and many native birds. Its location next to Mir Alam Tank attracts numerous migratory birds, adding to the zoo’s appeal.
