HyderabadBRS MLC K Kavitha urged the Indian government on Friday to postpone a planned beauty pageant, saying it’s inappropriate to hold such events while the country faces serious national security threats.

Speaking at a large rally organized by Telangana Jagruti at Indira Park, Kavitha emphasized that hosting a beauty contest during a tense, war-like situation sends the wrong message to the public. She pointed out that even the IPL (Indian Premier League) was suspended under similar circumstances and asked why the pageant couldn’t be delayed as well.

“This is not the time for celebration,” said Kavitha. “We need to act wisely and avoid activities that can seem insensitive during such serious times.”

Kavitha also honored Murali Naik, a soldier who lost his life in recent cross-border attacks. She paid tribute to his sacrifice by placing flowers before his portrait. She praised the Indian Army for its swift and powerful response through Operation Sindoor, which reportedly destroyed nine terrorist camps in Pakistan.

“Our soldiers are defending the nation bravely,” she said. “This rally is our way to show support and boost their morale.”

She highlighted that the Army responded strongly to Pakistan’s attacks on Indian airports and called for similar rallies to be held across all districts to show unity and support for the armed forces.

Kavitha ended her speech with a strong message: “This is a just fight. India does not attack without reason. We are targeting only terrorist camps, not innocent civilians. Our actions are fair and necessary.”
