Hyderabad: Kalvakuntla Kavitha, president of Telangana Jagruthi, stated on Wednesday that she is not connected to the BRS party. She clarified that their ‘debt card’ campaign is a political matter for them. However, she believes they should also address the issue of BC reservations with the government.
Kavitha emphasized her disassociation from the BRS party, saying, “I am no longer in BRS. That campaign is theirs, not mine.” Despite this, she urged the BRS party to focus on public issues and challenge the government on BC reservations.
Regarding the government’s attempt to set a Guinness World Record for Bathukamma, Kavitha criticized the effort. She announced plans for her organization to organize a Bathukamma event with 100,000 participants next year. Kavitha suggested that the record attempt was politically motivated to include Revanth Reddy in the event. She accused those who hadn’t supported Telangana of celebrating Bathukamma with hidden agendas.
Kavitha also dismissed remarks by BJP MP Eatala Rajender about canceling Sarpanch elections. She questioned Rajender’s authority to make such claims after being elected. She further criticized both the Congress and BJP for their lack of sincerity on the reservation issue.
The Jagruthi leader questioned why the government hasn’t implemented scheduled caste categorization in local body reservations. She accused officials of not carefully considering these reservations.
