Kothagudem: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is taking bold steps to boost its production and transport of coal. Chairman and Managing Director N Balram has set new daily goals: 2.25 lakh tonnes of coal production and 14 lakh cubic meters of overburden removal.
N Balram led a virtual review meeting from Singareni’s headquarters in Kothagudem, speaking with all Area General Managers. He stressed the importance of increased efforts in the last half of the financial year.
Heavy rains over the past three months meant the company only reached 91% of its production and 93% of its transport goals in the first half of the year. To make up for this, higher targets are now in place. Balram highlighted the company’s move into critical minerals exploration, a major step in diversifying its business. SCCL also has government approval to join coal and mineral block auctions, which opens new growth opportunities.
The government has allotted 10 acres in Future City for Singareni’s International Office, aiming to enhance the company’s global presence in mining and energy.
Balram urged employees to understand the company’s financial health and expansion plans. He emphasized that using human resources effectively is crucial. He called for a dedicated work culture, stating the company’s success depends on each employee’s full commitment to their 8-hour workday. Balram highlighted that safety and quality in coal production are vital for the industry’s future. He announced plans for area-specific review meetings to track performance and ensure accountability.
The meeting included Directors LV Suryanarayana, K Venkateswarlu, Gautham Potru, and Tirumala Rao. Also joining from Hyderabad were Executive Director B. Venkanna and GM T Srinivas, along with all Area and Corporate General Managers.
With a clear strategy and renewed focus, Singareni is ready to achieve new milestones, balancing operational efficiency with strategic growth.
