The Chief of the BRS party, K Chandrashekar Rao, expressed confidence on Saturday that his party would win over 200 seats in the upcoming local body elections in Maharashtra. He made this statement while interacting with leaders from Shetkari Sanghathan at Telangana Bhavan. Previously, when farmers contested elections under the name of ‘Shetkari Kamgar Party’, they won 76 seats. However, the BRS party aims to win 200 seats in the upcoming elections with strong determination. The BRS chief emphasized that farmers in the country lack water, power, and investment support, and therefore, the party has taken up the slogan of ‘Abki Baar Kisan Sarkar’. He believes that farmers need to be united to find a solution to their problems. The BRS chief urged farmers to utilize their vote and bring about change instead of resorting to agitations and facing lathis.

During the interaction, a farmer asked how they would fund so many schemes. In response, the BRS Chief stated that it was unfortunate that none of the governments in the 75 years of Independence thought of spending money on farmers. He added that the government does not prioritize allocating funds for farmers, but the BRS party has given top priority to water, power, and investment support, which are essential for farmers. The party has allocated a significant amount of money in the budget towards these areas.
