The district president of Hanumakonda, Rao Padma, accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of weakening the State universities that played a crucial role in the Telangana Movement. Padma criticized the BRS Government for neglecting Kakatiya University (KU) and mentioned that during protests against alleged irregularities in the admissions of Ph.D. courses, the police not only arrested ABVP workers and other students but also used violence against them. Padma stated that KU is plagued by irregularities and lacks sufficient facilities, blaming the BRS Government for undermining the education sector. She accused KCR of behaving like a dictator and suppressing the voices of students who raise issues in universities. Padma declared that the BJP will support the students’ cause and the bandh (strike) called by student unions on September 12. After receiving lemon juice from Padma, the protesting students ended their demonstration. Other individuals present at the protest included Macharla Rambabu, Araganti Nagaraju, Ankilla Shankar, Burri Umashankar, Harsha, Prem Sundar, M Ranjith, Manda Veeraswamy, Solti Kiran, Vangala Sudhakar, Krishna Menon, and Nikhil.
