Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his wife visited the Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad on Sunday. They gave silk robes and bonam as offerings to the Goddess Mahankali for the Bonalu festival. The temple priests welcomed them with a traditional gesture called Purnakumbha, and KCR also performed a special pooja.

The Mahankali Bonalu is a state festival in Telangana that is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year. It starts with the worship of village deities during the month of Ashadham and holds significant cultural importance in Telangana.

During the festival, locals participate in a procession and then offer bonam to the Goddess as a way to honor their customs and traditions.
