Former Chief Minister and BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, met with newly elected sarpanches from Erravelli and Narsannapet villages, offering guidance on rural development and governance.
During the meeting, KCR delivered an encouraging message to party workers and village leaders. “Not all times are favourable for us. Some phases bring difficulties, but we shouldn’t fear them. Our government will return, and good days will come back for the villages of Telangana. Until then, people must not lose courage under any circumstances,” he stated.
The BRS chief highlighted the administrative reforms he introduced during his tenure as Chief Minister, claiming they became a model for the country. He emphasized that during ten years of BRS rule, the villages of Telangana transformed into self-reliant, self-governed rural economic centres.
KCR provided detailed advice to the newly elected sarpanches, urging them to plan with vision for their villages’ development. He asked them to take successful self-reliant models like Gangadevipalli as inspiration for their work.
The former Chief Minister outlined several key principles for effective village governance:
- Form committees with public participation
- Follow the principle of “our work, our responsibility”
- Do not wait expecting someone else to come and do things
- Take initiative in development activities
KCR explained the contributions of global and Indian rural development visionaries, including Nobel laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus and social activist Anna Hazare. He encouraged villages to draw inspiration from their work and move towards becoming socially and economically self-sufficient centres.
The meeting was attended by Erravelli Sarpanch Kavitha Ramamohan Reddy and her husband Ramamohan Reddy, Deputy Sarpanch Edma Sabitha Karunakar, ward members, Narsannapet Sarpanch Gilaka Bala Narsayya, and elders from both villages.
The interaction marked KCR’s continued engagement with grassroots leadership as he seeks to strengthen the party’s presence at the village level across Telangana.
