Khammam: The Ganesh idol immersion in Khammam district is happening smoothly with strong security, as stated by Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt.
Several departments, including police, municipal, electricity, R&B, medical, panchayat, fire, fisheries, and revenue, are working together to manage the event safely.
Throughout the day, many Ganesh idols are being immersed in the Munneru stream, also known as “Gangamma Oodi.”
After the procession began, District Collector Anudeep Durishetty, Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt, and Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Agasthya inspected the Munneru Ghat at Kalvoddu to ensure everything was in order.
Senior police officials, like Additional DCPs such as Prasad Rao, are actively watching the situation and guiding staff. Each Ganesh pandal has a special identification number. Processions are following pre-planned routes. “We have assigned about 500 police officers in the city for safety,” Commissioner Dutt mentioned. “Special measures are in place to avoid any trouble and protect devotees during the immersion.”
Traffic police have set up alternative routes to avoid disrupting regular commuters. At the Prakash Nagar Munneru point, Additional DCP Kumaraswamy is overseeing security. The police requested the public to cooperate and adhere to safety instructions, ensuring a calm and joyous celebration.
