Bhadrachalam is witnessing a large influx of devotees for the immersion of Lord Ganesh idols as the Ganesh Navarathri festivities come to an end. Devotees from various parts of the state bring these idols to the town, particularly for immersion in the River Godavari.
From early morning, numerous Ganesh idols have been arriving. Authorities have made special preparations at the Godavari ghat. Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju assured that all necessary precautions are in place.
Officials anticipate nearly a thousand idols will be immersed by midnight. By Saturday evening, about 1,100 idols had already been submerged in the river. Due to the lunar eclipse on Sunday, the immersion is scheduled to conclude by the afternoon.
The idols arriving are from Hyderabad, Warangal, Nalgonda, and Khammam, as noted by the officials. Special boats have been arranged by irrigation officers to facilitate the immersion process in the Godavari.
Temple authorities have also organized special arrangements for devotees visiting the Lord Ram temple for darshan. District Collector Jitesh V Patil is overseeing the immersion activities in Bhadrachalam. The entire immersion event is being conducted under the supervision of officials at the River Godavari.
