There is still suspense over who will become the Chief Minister of Telangana, as the Congress party won a majority in the state. Initially, it was reported that Revanth Reddy would take charge as the Chief Minister. However, the selection has been postponed as other senior party leaders, Bhatti, Uttam, and Komati Reddy, are also competing for the position.
After a CLP meeting at Ella Hotel, the Congress observers decided to hand over the responsibility of selecting the Chief Minister to the High Command. They went to Delhi and informed Congress Party chief Mallikarjuna Kharge about their decision. Kharge stated that the name of the Chief Minister will be announced by Tuesday evening after reviewing the report from Telangana and consulting with senior leaders like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Bhatti Vikramarka and Uttam Kumar Reddy, who are both vying for the position of Chief Minister, arrived in Delhi on Monday evening. The high command is working towards facilitating a discussion between them and they are expected to meet Rahul Gandhi as well.
On another note, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and other observers will arrive in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening with a sealed cover containing the name of the Telangana Chief Ministerial candidate.
