Kishan Reddy praises GSI’s achievements

Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, attended the 175th Foundation Day celebrations of the Geological Survey of India (GSI) in Kolkata on Tuesday. During the event, he spoke about GSI’s important role in identifying India’s natural mineral resources. He also highlighted its efforts in addressing climate change and natural disasters.

Reddy mentioned that GSI has taken up many innovative projects. These include developing modern technologies to help achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. He also spoke about GSI’s work in exploring important minerals needed for the country’s progress.

The minister praised GSI for its 175 years of expertise and its adoption of modern technology. He said that GSI’s strategies and programs contribute to making India more self-reliant.

Earlier in the day, Reddy also attended the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Bharat Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata. He pointed out that in the past ten years, India has become the fifth-largest economy in the world. He compared the country’s economic growth to the rapid expansion of Vande Bharat trains across India. According to him, this progress is a result of the economic reforms introduced by the Central Government under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

Reddy also noted that the Bharat Chamber of Commerce has witnessed India’s journey from British rule in 1900 to becoming an independent and powerful nation today.
