The debate over the use of multiple languages in Tamil Nadu has intensified after the state government removed the rupee symbol from the budget logo. This decision has sparked discussions across the country, with various political leaders weighing in on the issue.
Union Minister Kishan Reddy recently spoke about the controversy, stating that the trilingual policy is not new. He explained that this policy has existed since the Congress party was in power and allows people to study in their preferred language. He also dismissed claims that Hindi is being imposed on the country, arguing that the current government is not forcing any language on the people.
Reddy further pointed out that, just as people in other countries speak their native languages, the central government encourages the use of mother tongues through the new education policy. He accused the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu of spreading “false propaganda” to provoke public sentiment and gain political advantage before the upcoming elections.
Additionally, Reddy challenged Chief Minister Stalin to prove what he has done to promote the Tamil language during his four and a half years in office.
