Hyderabad, January 27, 2024: In a scathing critique of the Congress-led state government, K T Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of neglecting minority representation in the Telangana cabinet. Addressing party workers at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, KTR highlighted that for the first time since 1953, minorities were absent from the state cabinet.

Raising concerns over what he termed as a lack of inclusivity, KTR alleged that the Congress party, having garnered minority support in the recent Assembly elections, had now sidelined them. He criticized the appointment of Mohammad Shabbir Ali as a government advisor, asserting that it fell short of providing adequate representation to the minority community.

Expressing disappointment, KTR argued that the Congress, despite leveraging minority sentiment during the polls, failed to translate it into substantial political representation. Drawing a parallel between the Congress and the BJP, he accused the former of competing with the latter in hindering minority political participation.

Furthermore, KTR targeted Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his alleged roots in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological backbone of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This critique adds a dimension of ideological opposition to his concerns over minority representation in the cabinet. The BRS working president’s remarks underscore a growing discontent with the Congress government’s approach to minority inclusivity in Telangana.
