Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, BRS working president, has urged the government to urgently repair several irrigation projects, including Kaleshwaram. He highlighted recent warnings about the condition of projects like Jurala, Manjeera, and Singur.
Rama Rao criticized Congress and BJP leaders for being inconsistent. He noted they criticize Kaleshwaram while ignoring problems at other projects.
He found it unfair to focus on damage to two pillars of the Medigadda Barrage and form a commission for this issue. He explained that repairs are necessary for all constructions. For example, if the rope of gate number 9 at Jurala breaks, it requires attention. Similarly, the Manjeera Barrage, which provides water to Hyderabad and Secunderabad, needs repairs if experts warn of danger. The same applies to Singur Dam, which also requires prompt action.
Rama Rao emphasized that the state’s 4 crore people will not accept different standards for various projects. All projects vital for irrigation and drinking water must be repaired immediately to ensure their functionality and safety.
