Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the BRS working president, criticized the government’s arrest of students participating in the ‘Chalo Secretariat’ protest. He stated that arresting unemployed individuals who protested against Rahul Gandhi‘s unfulfilled promise of creating two lakh jobs is extremely wrong.
Rao questioned CM A Revanth Reddy about his earlier claim that the Secretariat’s doors would always be open during ‘Indiramma Rajyam’. He asked if Revanth noticed the struggles of the unemployed. Rao reminded Revanth of his tea party with the unemployed at Ashok Nagar Cross Roads and questioned why the job calendar was forgotten after taking office. Arresting people from various districts of Telangana to prevent them from joining the Chalo Secretariat protest was outrageous.
Rao accused Revanth of misleading Delhi leaders with the Youth Declaration and failing to announce 10,000 job notifications in 18 months, disappointing the unemployed. He claimed the Chief Minister, who promised to complete job processes initiated by the BRS government, had let them down. The promise to fulfill all job calendar commitments within a year was not kept, angering the unemployed. Rao insisted that those arrested for the Chalo Secretariat protest should be freed immediately.
He demanded the Chief Minister honor his promises or face a BRS-led movement representing the state’s unemployed, forcing the Revanth government to take action.
