Hyderabad— Senior BRS leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) has sent a legal defamation notice to Telangana Minister Konda Surekha for linking him to the high-profile divorce of actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. Surekha sparked controversy earlier this week by alleging that KTR played a role in the couple’s separation, drawing sharp reactions from both the BRS party and the actors’ families.

In his legal notice, KTR demanded that Surekha retract her statements and issue a public apology within 24 hours. The notice also warned of legal consequences, including defamation and criminal charges, should she fail to comply.

KTR’s camp criticized Surekha’s remarks, with the BRS describing her accusations as “uncouth,” “cheap,” and “disgusting.” The BRS further stated that Surekha was using the names of prominent South Indian actors to further her political agenda.

In a social media post tagging senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, the BRS expressed outrage, accusing the Congress party of lacking moral ground and calling on them to address what they referred to as “stupidity.” The post read, “The Congress party holds no moral ground to preach about the Constitution or its values anymore. Such stupidity will be dealt with appropriately and politically. Your leaders are only digging a grave for your party with their motormouth and uncouth remarks.”

    The Controversy

The controversy began when Surekha accused KTR of orchestrating “online abuses” directed at her by BRS social media activists. In a bold statement, she claimed KTR was responsible for the divorce between actors Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, further alleging that the BRS leader had been involved in tapping the phones of actresses, blackmailing them, and even making them drug addicts.

Surekha stated, “KTR (Rama Rao) was the reason behind the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. He was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of the actresses and then find their weaknesses to blackmail them. Everyone knows this, including Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, and his family.”

These accusations have ignited a political firestorm, with the BRS standing firmly behind KTR and condemning Surekha’s comments as baseless and politically motivated. The situation remains tense as the Congress and BRS continue to exchange verbal blows over the allegations.
