Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) aims to retain the Jubilee Hills assembly seat as they gear up for the upcoming by-election. Party executive president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) is actively meeting with local leaders from the area. On Friday, he plans to speak to booth-level committees from the Erragadda division at Telangana Bhavan to discuss the party’s election strategy.
KTR has already met with party members in Vengalrao Nagar and Rahmat Nagar. The BRS leadership has also assigned in-charges for different divisions in the constituency.
In past assembly elections, the BRS has shown strong support within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area. As a result, the ruling Congress party is also keen to win the Jubilee Hills by-election, recognizing its potential impact on the upcoming GHMC elections. This by-election is drawing significant interest from all political parties.
There is much speculation about who the candidates will be. Reports suggest that the BRS might choose Sunita, the wife of the late Maganti Gopinath. Gopinath had a successful political career, winning the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections and previously holding the seat until his recent death from illness. Meanwhile, Congress Chief Minister Revanth Reddy mentioned in a recent meeting that their candidate will be announced soon by the party’s high command.
