Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the working president of the BRS party, criticized the Congress government for not keeping its promises to the farmers in the state. On Friday, he demanded that the government release a bonus of Rs 500 for coarse rice, as promised earlier.
KTR reminded the government of its commitment to paying a Rs 500 bonus to all farmers, which was made during the elections. He also criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the state government for failing to make a decision on the bonus for coarse rice. In addition, he pointed out that many farmers have still not received the Rythu Bharosa assistance, even though the rainy season has already ended.
In a letter to CM Revanth Reddy, KTR stated that the Congress Manifesto clearly promised a Rs 500 bonus for paddy grown by farmers. He accused the government of deceiving farmers by not delivering the bonus during the last season. KTR expressed concern that farmers are now confused because the government has not made any announcements about the bonus for coarse paddy this season either.
KTR warned that if the bonus is only given for the superfine variety of rice, it would be unfair to the majority of farmers. He emphasized that more than 80 percent of farmers in the state produce paddy, and ignoring them would be a major injustice.
