Warangal: Prof. Yadagiri Rao from Kakatiya University (KU) has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Telangana University (TU) in Nizamabad. His appointment was announced on Friday.

Prof. Rao is 59 years old and has been a professor in Public Administration at KU for the past 28 years. He has a total of 33 years of experience in teaching and research.

Throughout his career, Prof. Rao has attended 46 national and international conferences. He has also published 10 books and mentored many students, guiding four Post-Doctoral Fellows (PDF), 21 Ph.D. students, and nine M.Phil students.

In 2021, Prof. Rao was honored with the State Best Teacher Award by the Telangana Government. He has also completed a major research project funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

In addition to his teaching and research work, Prof. Rao has held several key positions. These include serving as the UGC Unit Coordinating Officer and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Telangana University.
