    Hyderabad: The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) hosted the first session of its new outreach program, ‘Gyandeep,’ on Friday. This initiative is aimed at students from Kendriya Vidyalayas and was held at the CDFD premises.

    The ‘Gyandeep’ program is a collaboration between BRIC-CDFD and GENETIKS4U, an outreach project supported by India Biosciences and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Hyderabad. It is designed to promote knowledge in genetics and related sciences among school students.

    The event saw enthusiastic participation from students representing various Kendriya Vidyalaya branches in Hyderabad. One of the main attractions of the day was a hands-on activity where students learned to isolate DNA from bananas. They were excited to see and hold the extracted DNA, making the experience both fun and educational.

    In addition to the DNA experiment, the event included interactive sessions that kept the students engaged throughout the day.
