Labour union declares Shadnagar tragedy as a clear case of negligence

In Rangareddy, the district labour union is concerned about the living conditions of workers in industries following a tragic incident at a glass factory in Burgula Village of Shadnagar mandal. The union leader, P Prabhakar Rao, criticized factory owners for neglecting the safety of their workers.

Rao highlighted the lack of technical staff to assist workers in factories, stating that owners prioritize profit over the lives of their employees. He also mentioned that the incident involved migrant workers from states like Odisha, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, whose safety should be protected according to labor laws.

Member of Parliament DK Aruna expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in the incident and called for legal action against negligent factory management. She emphasized the importance of enforcing safety regulations to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Authorities are investigating the incident at South Glass Private Limited Industries, where five workers from different states lost their lives. The deceased were identified as Nikit Kumar, Ram Seth, Ram Prakash, Chittaranjan, and Rathikant.
