On Sunday, a large number of devotees gathered at Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad for the Lashkar Bonalu festival. Women came to the temple early in the morning, carrying bonum on their heads. The temple was crowded with people waiting to have a glimpse of Ammavaru. To manage the crowd, the temple authorities organized two queues. The Shiva Sattulu and Potharajus, who are the main attractions of the Bonalu Jatara, will start coming to the temple in the afternoon and continue until night.
Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the Animal Husbandry Minister, offered Silk clothes to Ammavaru on behalf of the state government. The State Government celebrates Bonalu as the State Festival. Later in the day, several VIPs are expected to visit the temple. BRS MLC K Kavitha will offer Bonum to Ammavaru at 9:30 am.
