Hyderabad: TPCC President and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has warned that leaders involved in the phone tapping case will soon be put behind bars in Charlapally jail. This comes after recent statements by BRS working president KT Rama Rao admitting that the BRS government tapped the phones of some opposition leaders.
Speaking at a press conference at the Telangana Congress headquarters, Gandhi Bhavan, the CM criticized KTR for admitting to phone tapping during the BRS rule. He accused KTR of making those comments in an ‘inebriated’ state and said there will be consequences for openly discussing phone tapping. Revanth also blamed the previous government for causing panic among political parties through phone tapping.
Revanth Reddy also criticized the previous BRS government for corruption and claimed that his government has improved governance and ensured timely payment of salaries to government employees. He accused the BRS and BJP of conspiring to defeat Congress in certain Lok Sabha segments. He specifically targeted the BJP candidate from Mahbubnagar for failing to secure national project status for an irrigation project.
In a Political Affairs Committee Meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, attended by State party incharge Deepa Das Munshi and others, Revanth urged leaders to work hard to secure a majority of seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He also instructed them to prepare for a large public meeting in Greater Hyderabad on April 6.
