Liam Livingstone, the hard-hitting batter and all-rounder for the Punjab franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), may miss the team’s opener against Kolkata as he is yet to receive clearance from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Livingstone suffered a knee injury during his Test debut against Pakistan in December last year and has not played any competitive cricket since then. He is a crucial member of the Punjab squad for his all-round abilities and had his best ever season in the IPL last year, amassing 437 runs in 14 games with an average of 36.42 and a sensational strike rate of 182.08. The team will also miss the services of premier pacer Kagiso Rabada, who will skip the KKR game due to national duty.
