Heavy to moderate rains are expected to hit Telangana starting from Tuesday, according to the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre. The Centre has issued a warning that heavy rains will likely occur in several districts of Telangana on August 1, with light rain expected in many places on Monday.

On Tuesday, Adilabad, Mancherial, Asifabad, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Bhupalapalli, Mahabubabad, and Mulugu districts are expected to experience heavy rainfall. As a result, a yellow alert has been issued for these districts.

On Sunday, rainfall measurements were recorded at various places in the state. Jannarm received 4 cms of rain, Medchal had 3.8 cms, and Khagaj Maddur had 3.5 cms. Other areas such as Bibinagar, Vishwanathpur, Lakshmisagar, Kesavaram, and Aliabad also received rainfall ranging from 2.5 to 2.8 cm.

Despite the recent widespread rains in the state, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported a deficit compared to last year. This season’s rainfall is said to be 19% less than the previous year. From June to July 30 last year, the state received 687.1 mm of rain, whereas this year only 559.1 mm has been recorded for the same period.
