The Lucknow Super Giants will play against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. LSG needs a win to secure their place in the top four with 15 points from 13 matches. Their final position in the points table depends on how Chennai Super Kings (CSK) perform against Delhi Capitals. A win against KKR could mean a place in the top two, but LSG must win big due to CSK’s marginally better Nett Run-Rate (NRR).

On the other hand, KKR is currently placed seventh in the points table, and even if they win, they need something extraordinary in terms of NRR to overtake Rajasthan Royals. Their chances of reaching the top four slots are bleak, but they will try their best and hope for the best.

LSG has managed to recover well after a slump and has won their last two games, including a win against Mumbai Indians. Their young bowling lineup was fantastic in their previous game, and Mohsin Khan’s superb last over ensured that the batting giants of IPL 2023 were not able to chase down LSG’s moderate total.

KKR’s feat was equally big as they beat CSK in Chennai. Their spinner Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine were enough to challenge the formidable Chennai batting, and skipper Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh did just enough to stave off the CSK bowlers on a dodgy track.

The match between LSG and KKR could make a difference in terms of how the teams play, but Eden Gardens has been a boost for KKR throughout, and they would hope for a fine finish.
