Hyderabad: A group of Madiga MLAs has been in Delhi for over a week. On Thursday, they met with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal. They urged these leaders to secure a cabinet position for the Madiga community.
With rumors of a State Cabinet expansion, the delegation made their case. Led by Adluri Laxman Kumar, the Dharmapuri MLA, the group included Manakondur MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana, Thungathurthi MLA Mandula Samuel, and others. After their meeting, they reported a positive response from the top leaders.
Speaking to the media, the MLAs explained their request for a cabinet position. They stressed that this issue affects all Madiga people in Telangana, not just their six MLAs. Four of these MLAs went to Delhi on May 29 to push their demand.
The MLAs described their request as fair, insisting that the Madiga community deserves representation in the cabinet. They highlighted their long-standing support for the Congress and stated they have no objections to the Malas also getting a cabinet role.
