Hyderabad: The BRS has chosen Maganti Sunitha as their candidate for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. On Friday, KT Rama Rao, the party’s working president, urged everyone to support her victory.
KTR emphasized the importance of this by-election for Telangana’s future during a meeting with party leaders from the Erragadda Division at Telangana Bhavan. He warned that electing Congress could mean a lack of commitment to welfare schemes.
He urged people to choose between the development symbolized by a car and the so-called “bekar-gallu” represented by Congress and BJP. He accused both parties of trying to remove KCR, who he described as Telangana’s protector. KTR claimed that if BRS falls, BJP will easily dominate Congress. He criticized the Revanth government, stating that many, except a few like Geethakka, Seethakka, and Surekha Akka, were unhappy with their governance.
He called the Revanth government a Congress-BJP collaboration. KTR accused Revanth of supporting Modi, whom Rahul Gandhi calls a “vote thief,” and praised the Gujarat model criticized by Rahul. KTR mentioned how CBI is used against KCR, labeled a “hunting dog” by Rahul. He reminded that BRS opposed the Modi government’s Waqf amendments in the Rajya Sabha, siding with Muslim sentiments.
KTR urged Muslims to question Congress ministers about their support for the Waqf amendments. He highlighted that for the first time, Congress has formed a government without a Muslim minister.
He noted the strong support for BRS in Hyderabad, which turned the city cosmopolitan and won all seats. Despite negative publicity, Maganti Gopinath secured his third win in Jubilee Hills. Now, his wife, Sunitha, aims to continue his work. KTR called for all BRS workers to support Sunitha, highlighting the unfulfilled promises of Congress.
