In Mahabubnagar, a significant educational initiative is underway, led by local MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy. He announced free engineering education for 100 disadvantaged students, fully funded by his own resources.
During a press conference at his office, the MLA explained that the program targets students who excel academically but lack financial support. These students will receive admission through the management quota at GK Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mahabubnagar, with all costs covered by him.
“This initiative is more than a scholarship; it’s an investment in Mahabubnagar’s future,” he emphasized, encouraging students and parents to seize this chance.
Over the past 18 months, MLA Srinivas Reddy has worked to turn Mahabubnagar into an educational hub. He helped establish an Engineering College and Law College under Palamuru University and brought an Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) to the city with the support of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Additionally, he succeeded in getting approval for the GK Institute of Engineering and Technology to support minority students.
The MLA is also committed to skill development. A TASK Training Centre near the Mahabubnagar railway station prepares youth for employment. In partnership with Amara Raja Batteries, an Amara Raja Skill Development Centre has opened at Divitipally’s IT Park.
Three initial courses are offered at this center, aiming to train 200 students every three months. The MLA predicts that within four to five years, the GK Institute of Engineering and Technology could enroll 10,000 students, drawing large companies to the city.
He urged local industrialists, employees, businessmen, and educated individuals to support these social welfare programs, ensuring widespread benefits for deserving students.
The announcement event was attended by MUDA Chairman Laxman Yadav, District Library Chairman Mallu Narasimha Reddy, Market Committee Vice Chairman Pedda Vijay Kumar, CJ Benahar, former municipal councillors, and other dignitaries.
